Nampa Kiwanis Club Projects
Each standing committee adopts a project for the current year that begins the first of each October. The incoming president either selects a new project or may carry on a previous president's choice.
The Nampa Kiwanis Club have again chosen the Syringa House in Nampa as a club project for this year.
Syringa House is a 12-bed residential treatment home for adolescent girls, ages 11 to 17.

Working with licensed social workers and in positive peer groups, Syringa residents are given a supportive environment to solve problems, gain in insights and learn to manage their own behaviors.

The Nampa Kiwanis has an ongoing fund raising collection each week and has donated the funds for new carpet throughout the Syringa House and helped with funds for phone cards for the residents to call home.
Human and Spiritual Values (Spiritual Aims Committee) Supports spiritual development, provide human companionship and comfort, or offer counseling and guidance to club members. Projects encourage interfaith and interdenominational religious activity.
The primary project is the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast, traditionally held in May of each year. During the month of May, the committee presents "spiritually aimed" programs at the weekly club meetings. Other responsibilities include providing invocations at weekly club meetings and twice-a-month board meetings. We also mail get well, sympathy, and other appropriate communications to club members and families.
Community Service project include "Reading is Fundamental". Each month a school is contacted to provide books and the opportunity to read to young students in the community.
Schools that we have visited and donated books for the students to have in their library are - Park Ridge Elementary School, Snake River Elementary, Nampa Head Start and others. Nampa Kiwanis also provides books that the students can take home.
